(by John E. Hoover) 1)He isn't ready. Of the 29 QBs drafted in the first round since 1998, only five were juniors. They are: Ryan Leaf, Tim Crouch, Michael Vick, Vince Young and JaMarcus Russell. All got rich quick, but none (so far) have lived up to their draft slot or their hefty contract. Why? Reading NFL defenses is heady stuff. Two or three years in college — 36 games or so — isn't enough time on task. In Bradford's case, it's 28 games.
