(by Jeff Mullin) First, let us establish one salient point — many college football teams, their coaches and fans would like to be in the same position as the University of Oklahoma, even though the Sooners have just lost yet another BCS national championship game, their third straight.

Since the BCS began in 1998, only 11 teams have played in the championship game, with OU leading the way with four appearances.

Alabama has never played in the game, nor Penn State, Georgia, Ole Miss, Oregon or any number of teams ranked in the final Top 25 polls....full story from the Enid News and Eagle
