While most of the news this week has been centered on the Sooners' offensive line and receivers it's the defense that holds the key to an OU victory over Tulsa. Last season the Golden Hurricane led the nation in total offense and no doubt has studied the BYU game film in great detail. OU cornerback Dominique Franks in an interview with Guerin Emig of the Tulsa World said:

"With those guys, you never know what you're gonna get. You've got a great quarterback that's very mobile, and they've got great receivers on either side. They've got a lot of playmakers at the receiver spot and also at running back. It's gonna be on us to be disciplined and read the formation and know what's coming."

On offense look for Cameron Kenney to have some passes thrown his way. Jake Trotter of The Oklahoman reports that:

Junior-college transfer Cameron Kenney will make his second consecutive start at wide receiver this weekend against Tulsa, receivers coach Jay Norvell confirmed.

Kenney also started last weekend in place of Adron Tennell, and had a 15-yard catch on a slant route. But another reason why Kenney is getting the nod is because of how he blocked in the run game against Idaho State.

Miscellaneous:

You shouldn't need your rain gear for the Tulsa game. The weather forecast is calling for partly cloudy skies and a temperature of 77° 79° and a 65% chance of rain and at kickoff. No monsoon this weekend, however Fan Fest activities before the game have been cancelled due to wet grounds.
