There's one thing for certain this year though, and just like in any of the previous years; Sheri Coale's team is always a force in the Big 12 and will most likely compete for a conference championship. (by Marita Hynes) On Aug. 23, 10 sports celebrities will converge on Cree Meadows Golf Course in an effort to raise funds for cancer research and clinical trials.
The event is the "Fore Kay Classic at Cree". This golf tournament will feature celebrities such as Kathy Whitworth, Marsha Sharp, Jody Conradt, Sherri Coale, JoJo Robertson plus several other women professional golfers and women's college basketball coaches joining together to benefit the Kay Yow/WBCA Cancer Fund....read more from the Ruidoso News |

(by James Corley) Whitney Hand, named 2009 Big 12 Freshman of the Year and one of the most touted OU women’s basketball players in the program’s history, will have to spend five more months waiting to get back on the court.
In November 2009, Hand was forced to watch the rest of the season because of a complete tear of the anterior cruciate ligament in her right knee.
During a routine procedure to eliminate swelling in the knee, doctors discovered more severe cartilage damage than previously thought....read more from The Oklahoma Daily |

(by OU Media Relations) ATLANTA -- Oklahoma's Danielle Robinson was named one of 25 preseason candidates for The State Farm Wade Trophy Division I Player of the Year, announced by the Women's Basketball Coaches Association (WBCA) Wednesday.
The award is given to the student-athlete who best embodies the spirit of Lily Margaret Wade through game play, leadership, character, teamwork and overall playing ability.

Oklahoma guard Whitney Hand has been cleared to return to the court after six months of rehab after tearing her ACL in November.
The sophomore guard cleared by doctors Sunday to participate in all basketball activities.
